Biography
Solo Jay is a versatile Haitian artist excelling in traditional, roots, and dancehall music, known for his authentic sound and powerful storytelling. He was born and raised in Haiti, where he developed a great love for music.
His music is rooted in Haitian popular traditions, drawing inspiration from the country's cultural heritage. Solo Jay's approach to music is organic and natural, emphasizing real stories and meaningful lyrics that resonate with listeners.

Johnny Pierre, better known as Solo Jay, was born on March 14, 1991, in Saint-Louis du Nord, Northwest Department, Haiti. He is a father of three children (two daughters and a son) and is known for his wise and very human character.
In 1998, he found his first inspiration in a group called Fanmiy Mizik, which used to play in his neighborhood. This ignited his passion for music.
In 2006-2007, he founded his first group, X-Revolution, and the same year created another group called Revolution Soldiers. With them, he released two songs: 'Fanm Sa' and 'Everybody Let's Go' (a carnival song in 2008).
These works made him recognized in his area, where he collaborated with many artists such as Dolby Malè, KBJ, Louko Jah, Snapp G, Top Shotta, T Thug, Champaign Panou Mizik, and others.
After Revolution Soldiers disbanded (2009-2014), he joined the group Massif Rap as a singer, where he performed on three songs and three carnivals. During the same period, he became the bandleader of another group called Mission 03, where he sang on four songs and four carnivals.
In 2015, he launched the J and J project with his friend Jhulens (Jhulens and Johnny Ex). They released three songs: 'Lajenès Leve Kanpe', 'Ann al Vote', and 'Pa Fòsel'.
In the same year, 2015, he changed his stage name from Johnny Ex to Solo Jay and decided to pursue a solo career.
Throughout his career, Solo Jay has worked as a radio host, where he shared his passion for music and Haitian culture. He has done several advertisements for various brands and organizations, including Le SRA Ecole Professionel, Chery Smart-Phone, and Fòne Lessive.
For Solo Jay, a guitar and a microphone are enough to light up any stage. He is an organic and natural artist, a singer and vocalist with a powerful voice that carries deep emotion. Despite the personal challenges he has faced, he continues to create music and participate in various projects, including lending his voice to political campaigns and local company marketing, always seeking to share his cultural knowledge and warm personality with the Haitian people.
